It was a dream for miners to get FULL LHR before eth 2.0. Finally, the day has arrived and nbminer has unleased the latest update which fully unlocks the mining capability of Nvidia cards. I did an update yesterday night on my 3060ti, 3070ti and 3080ti rigs and all of them are performing 100%. I am getting a steady 120 MH for the last 12 hours in a 3080ti rig which has around 6 cards. Nvidia deliberately wanted to push miners away from buying LHR cards for various reasons. It pushed away miners from buying LHR cards and reaped profits for retailers and distributors. Now miners can earn more profit in Ethereum and other coins. It was like a celebration on many discord channels.
Now that demand for the mining landscape is changing and demand for GPU has come all-time low, it’s safe to assume we can say goodbye to this unwanted feature. The limitation of technology shouldn’t be done by one entity and this will only slow down the growth of a large part of the population. I sincerely applaud the work of various teams across the entire crypto community for working tirelessly to give the power back to miners. This achievement has once again proved that a decentralized way of working as a community help thwart any attempts to slow the growth of many people who want to fulfill their dream.
